“There has to be a rational explanation for that” is a phrase we hear a lot, and one I’ve said a lot myself in my life.

I love science, and the study of cause and effect, and the rationality of the universe. But as I get older, I’m starting to realize that there’s no f*8king rhyme or reason for most things. There’s no reason why that person is healthy, that one sick, alone, in love, successful, or a failure. So many things are out of our control and seem to have no reason for their occurrence.

All that to say, that though we should not abandon rational thought and science – because it’s the most sane thing in our realm of existence – we might as well believe in magic too. Because really, nothing makes rational sense anymore.
