Time Is A Malleable Thing

Earrings and Bracelet – F21; T-Shirt – Dehlias ; Skirt – Spotted Moth; Shoes – Zellers.

So I’m done my shoots for a bit. I’ve got rehearsals for two projects coming up, live on air shifts and probably more auditions, but right now it’s quiet and therefore I’m taking a small breather. I like being busy, but I also like the quiet moments where I can just enjoy the time.

Oh and Baby’s first birthday is coming up.  That completely blows my mind.  At times it feels like we’ve had her forever *especially when she keeps up at night* and other times it feels like we’ve had her just a few short weeks.  But it’s been a year.  One whole year.

Today I watched her watching Backyardigans and was completely mesmerized.  That cute little nose, those lips hanging open in wonderment, and those smooth porcelain cheeks.  I made those.  I nourished and grew them.  And they’re beautiful.  As is the mischievous little personality that thinks I don’t see her splashing in Drake the Dog’s water bowl.

True Story: Opened the fridge, took out almond milk to put in my coffee, put milk back, turned around and found Baby eating Drake the Dog’s food.  His food is organic and sugar free, so at least she’ll have a shiny head of hair.

When You Fall…

Jacket – Old Navy; Shirt – swapped; Belt – ?; Skirt – ?; Shoes – Aldo

I was trying something new with my camera and it kind of failed.  But oh well.  If you don’t try, you never learned.  So I messed with these shots as much as I could to stylize them a little.  I promise better ones are on the way!

This is the outfit I wore yesterday to the last day of the music video shoot.  But I forgot to take shots yesterday, so I quickly jumped into it today to snap some pics.  And of course, today’s outfit is on the way.

So, I got yet another email saying that it was between me and another woman for a role and they went with the other woman.  Bummer.

Guess I got to pick myself up and get back on those horses.

Distractions

Sweater – made by my Babcia; Shirt – H&M; Tank – Gap; Necklace – F21; Jeans – from Spain; Boots – somewhere in NYC.

Sorry I haven’t been able to post in a while.  I’ve been trying to organize my photo archives and have been distracted getting that up and running.  And then I was on the air last night hosting – thanks for tuning in those who watched – so I relaxed and enjoyed myself there.  Today, I had a great lunch with a fabulous friend as well.  and so the days have simply gotten away from me!

But I’m back and good to go and ready for action.

I just discovered Etsy! *well, not really*  I had used it before but I just discovered the fabulous assortment of vintage clothing you can get there!  So excited!  Just browsing is sooo much fun!

True Story: Baby loved eating her lentils and rice this evening!  And surprisingly, most of it ended up in her mouth!

Dress 80: Do You Like Getting Hippy?

Jacket – Old Navy; Scarf – thrifted; Dress – H&M; Boots – Ruche

This dress is one that I must say is difficult to wear.  The ruched sides and the horizontal stripes make anyone look a little ‘hippy’.  It’s great if you’re very slim, have a boyish figure, and want to add some curves!  But for the rest of us, it can be somewhat of a confidence test.  It’s also quite a fancy dress – something you’d wear out to a bar with the girls, but adding the denim jacket and relaxed booties *I’m loving these so much!* really dressed it down enough to be worn during the day.

What did I do on Sunday?  Well, I’m glad you asked.  As I mentioned here, I shot an episode of Posthuman in Waterloo.  You can see some fun shots and read about everything here.

Thanks and see you all tomorrow!

Dress 70: Pardon The Lunacy Of This Unhappy Camper

Cardi – H&M; Shirt – from Mom; Dress – F21

Seriously!  What is up with the weather here??? Spring was well on it’s way with sunshine and warm breezes and all of a sudden we have flurries and weather in the negative degrees celsius.  I am not a happy camper.

I’m also very tired today, so pardon the raving lunacy.

That’s it.  I’m done for today.  Better stop writing before I say something stark raving mad.

See y’all tomorrow!

Dress 61: Playing With Patterns

Cardi – Costa Blanca; Dress – Ruche; Tights – from Poland; Boots – Ruche

I promised you I would do better today.  And I think I have.  Just the fact that I got dressed in clean clothes today….ha!

I’ve stopped asking whether I should trash, stash, or save.  ‘Cause frankly, I can’t bear to part with any of them.  But your opinion is always welcome if you see one that is just a big ‘NO’. Please do let me know.  We all need that honest person to come up and say, “Honey, that’s not doin’ it today, you know?”   At least, I appreciate such blunt honesty.

I’m loving mixing patterns right now.  I used to be so scared of it, for fear of getting it wrong, but now I’m just having fun with it and playing.  And it is so much fun to play!

Oh, and I’m going for a haircut on Sunday.  Time to clean this mess up!

Dress 51: St.Patty`s Day

Here’s a clean, crisp shot of the dress.  *notice the bad hair day*
Husband got some candid shots of me…I’m loving the awkward shots of me lately.

Jacket – F21; Sweater – clothing swap; Dress – Ruche; Leggings – F21; Boots – Feet First.

It was 13 degrees outside today!!!  Yay!  I wore a light jacket and didn’t freeze my behind off.  Spring has arrived.  I can’t wait until it gets even warmer.

Today’s dress is a fairly recent dress from Ruche and I absolutely love it.  However, I didn’t get to wear it around for too long as Baby decided to grace it with her spit up.  Oh well, at least I was pretty for part of my day.  Trash, stash, or save?  Save!  I love the aplique detail.  *I’m noticing that I’m not trashing a lot of dresses…I guess I just can’t bear to part with any of them*

And sorry, no green today for St. Patrick’s Day.  I love the Irish, but I hate wearing green.  But here’s to the Irish!  Cheers!

Dress 46: Casual Coffee

Sweater – Gap; Scarf – Jacob; Dress – ??

This is my version of a jeans and t-shirt/sweater day – casual and easy.  I know I’ve been giving you a lot of casual outfits, and what can I tell ya, I’m a casual girl.  *Not in that sense! Get your mind out of the gutter!* I’ve also had a rough night and a rough morning, so I needed the bright color to pep me up…at least a little.

And I’m surviving an emergency right now.
*Pause for dramatic effect*
There’s no coffee in house!
NOOOooooooooooo!
Thank goodness I have a good friend who’s bringing me coffee right now.
Seriously.
She’s on the bus right now.

P.S.  My battery died so these pics were taken with my older and crappier camera…sorry.  You’ll forgive me woncha?

Dress 31: Stepping Out Stepford

My photographer makes me laugh!

Dress – H&M; Cardigan – Esprit

Bag – Matt by Matt&Nat; Tights – Hue; Shoes – Clarks

Hey all, hope your day has been as fun as mine.  I got a run in today and went to a really fun audition.  It’s for the lead and supporting role in an indie feature film (yes, I auditioned for both roles) and it was so much fun to go in an play.

But even better?  The weather was warm – and I use that term loosely.  It wasn’t shorts and t-shirt weather, but it was warm enough that I wore my tweed coat and no hat.  So that’s warm!

This dress is a cute little one from H&M that I picked up while pregnant for super cheap.  I couldn’t wear it then, but now I can!  Yay!  I’m liking it.  I think you’re going to see a lot more of it…once the challenge is done of course.  Trash, stash, or save?  I’m thinkin’ save!

True Story:  Husband called this look “very Stepford.”  And I told him it was appropriate because I was auditioning to play a Stepford-esque psychopath.  He said, “Well, you look it.”  Now did he mean….Stepford or psychopath????

Dress 25: Too Much Chocolate Is Good For The Soul

Cardigan – Gap; Dress – F21; Leggings – H&M; Boots – F21

Today…hmm what do I say?
There’s a lot I could say.
But I won’t.

Let’s talk about this:

I’ve lived in Toronto for over a decade…so I know it well.  Today on my way to an audition, I went the wrong way on the subway….twice.  Yup, that’s right folks.  Aren’t I spectacular?  I think so.

I did have far too much chocolate this afternoon…yippee!

But I hear ya, onto the dress already lady.

When I bought this little number I was attracted to the stripes and not too sure about the cut.  But as I’ve worn it, I’ve fallen in love with how easy it is to wear.  It’s one of those dresses that you wear on your off days because it’s forgiving, you can eat as much as you like in it, and you still look kinda cute.  Am I right?  But I’d love your opinion on it.  Trash, stash, or save?

Do you have a piece like that?  I’d love it if you sent me an email of yourself wearing it!
