Sunset walks are killer. Early morning walks have a charm all their own too. And this time I was particularly happy because she let me take as many pictures of her as I wanted. I had just finished her crochet dress and she was eager to show it off on my “blog and on Instagram.”

Parenting sucks! Okay, slightly exaggerating here, but not by much. Not today. When it’s time to correct disrespectful behavior, or dole out consequences, or take that anger. It freakin’ sucks. It’s turbulent, and unpleasant, and you have to suck up your own hurt feelings. So yeah, sometimes it just plain sucks. But that’s needed to grow a pretty bloom.

A few people told me to watch it. They said I would enjoy it. They were right. Biggest Little farm on Netflix is delightful. It’s charming, and heartwarming, and most importantly, it imparts how being alined with nature, how working to promote biodiversity, and how caring for our earth reaps its own rewards. It doesn’t protect you from everything, but it certainly allows you to weather many storms much better. Oh, and Emma is the best. #sustainableliving

A day spent in various lines getting necessary err

A day spent in various lines getting necessary errands. A day spent in crowds that are staying 6ft apart from each other. A day spent dealing with senseless people crowding me. A day spent where people have forgotten how to be people to each other. A day spent listening to them bicker. A day spent listening to whining. A day spent with non-stop people noise and business. This day was too much. I’d had enough. I longed for an empty house and a quiet brook. I longed for a little solitude.

Yesterday was the first time I went into my garden

Yesterday was the first time I went into my garden since learning about edible weeds, and the local flora. Normally, I go in, pull out all the weeds, put in seeds/plants and feel proud. This time as I went to pull out weeds, I was torn because the plants I was pulling out were just as nutritious and delicious as the plants I was growing. It was a very weird feeling. But I planted all that I wanted, and that evening we had a lovely dinner with the ‘weeds’ I pulled out. ***Swipe to see how the dog "helped"**
