Coffee Talk: Making A Vlog?

I got a question about how I make my vlog. Here’s my process, if you can call it that.

Summary:
1. Record everything – I record my train of thought as it occurs.
2. I import to a program.
3. Then cut to make it flow like it does in my brain.

Not much of a process, but that’s what I do.

First, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for your words of congratulations, support, and encouragement on my “500 Celebration Giveaway” post.  I’ve responded personally to everyone I can with words of thanks and appreciation, and will continue to do so.  But I just wanted to give you all a public shout out – you are all so wonderful!  I’m honored that you visit here.

Now onto the things I’m thinking: What if we armed whales?  How cool would that be?  

Imagine:  
A slow moving, gentle unsuspecting whale is swimming along in the ocean.  Perhaps it’s a mother with her baby beside her.  An evil, gray, and ominous poaching whaling boat spies them.  It hones in on them, slowly circling and getting ever nearer.  The greed, and delicious dollar signs looming in their eyes.  It’s draws nearer, almost close enough.  And just as the boat levels it’s large harpoon onto the back of the gentle whale.  The whale pops up with a monstrous shotgun and says, “How do you them apples?”
Am I the only one that thinks this would be awesome? 

*crickets*

Don’t Tolerate It

Asked about a simple healthy tip, I would answer, “Discover your intolerances.”  Food intolerance is not the same as allergies.  You may not go into shock like you would in an allergy, but your body still can’t handle it.  Signs of intolerance can be mood changes, gas, bloating, cramps, inflammation, and other issues.   I’m intolerant to gluten, dairy, and soy.  I won’t have to go to the hospital or anything, but I do get all those things I mentioned.  My body has thanked me since I’ve stopped eating them.  So, yeah.  That’s my tip.  Discover your intolerances.  A good Naturopathic doctor can help.

What Was Your First Time?

I’m hosting my first ever linky party! *as I mentioned this will not be a regular feature for me.  This circumstance is very special* It’s about the first post you ever did as a blogger.  A chance to laugh at our own lameness!   I started on WordPress and then imported but it didn’t go too well. So this, below, is the first post that actually survived:

I’m spending the day at home with Baby while Husband is at work.  Lately, she’s been giving me a run for my money by keeping me up most of the night.  But since we’ve gotten home from my Moms house she’s started to calm down again.  Perhaps, it’s being in her own surroundings that’s doing it.

I managed to grab a great photo of the two of us today and it’s going to go on my desktop.  You’re seeing a cropped version of said photo.  Sorry, not going to show you the rest as I don’t want Audrey’s face in any photos I share on the net.  I chose to put mine up, but she hasn’t chosen to do that and I respect her privacy too much to make that choice for her.  It’s my own personal decision.

On another note, I’m still revamping the site.  The basic template is down but I still need to rework the header and some minor things.  It’s frustrating me to no end.  I’m computer literate, just not code and web design literate, so my laptop has come close to being smacked on something hard a few times today.  As I sit here writing it’s still shaking from it’s several near death experiences.  But in the meantime I will continue to post so please continue to check in and see what’s new.  Better yet, why not subscribe?

Random Sundays:Kids Are Funny

My baby girl has been really cute and silly lately.
First, she insists on going into the sunroom, having me cover her with a handkerchief and close the door.  Then she pretends to be “sleepeez” for a few seconds, before she comes back in and has me do it all again.

And she found her baby seat recently.  Now it’s become the best lazyboy seat in the house for watching Elmo and Yo Gabba Gabba.

A Malady Of The Soul That Plagues Me

Sometimes I really don’t know what to do with myself.  I’m mentally wandering aimlessly.  I know where I want to be, I’ve no idea how to get there mind you, and I’m also really scared that I won’t ever get there. So really maybe I’m just paralyzed by a little fear and the realization that right now, I have very little control over my fate.  Not trying to sound ominous here.  I’m not dying, or have any serious ailment or disease.  This is more a malady of the soul.  Sometimes I just wish I knew the right answers, and could make the right doors open for me.  But really all I can do is hope, and keep trying.  That’s the hard part.  And I’m pretty sure, that’s the part that has me paralyzed because that’s all I can do, you know? I’m a go-getter, a doer, and when there’s nothing that I can really do on a particular path it’s torture for me.

Best Dress Ever And Some Shows

So this dress has now officially become my absolute favorite dress of all time.  If I could only save one thing in my closet, this would be it.  The material is a soft silky one that just flows and keeps you cool despite the fact that it’s so covered up.  Best dress ever.  Yeah, that’s pretty much all I have to say about that.

On another note, I saw two plays last night – both good and unique in their own ways.  You can read my reviews on Mooney on Theatre.  Two more to go tonight!  I’m clearly loving this.

A Wonderful Week

I’m going to see some Fringe Festival plays today as part of a fun gig to review them for Mooney on Theatre.  Definitely looking forward to getting out there and having a good time. It’s been a wonderful week so far filled with photoshoots, kung fu classes, audits of acting classes, and now this!  Keep it coming July.  Next up, several other projects, including the premiere of Posthuman on SFNTV.com, before I leave on the 22nd for my best friend’s wedding.  Oh yeah!

I Hate This Dress So Much….

…I just can’t get enough of it!  This dress was on ridiculous sale and I was immediately drawn to it like a moth to a flame.  I don’t know why exactly.  It has everything I hate in a dress: intentionally vintage looking beige cotton/linen background, obnoxious bold black outline of a print, and a mix of neon yellow, teal, red and coral that has no rhyme or reason.  But despite all that, or maybe even because of it, I’m inexplicably and magically drawn to it.  I couldn’t help myself. 
It’s funny how sometimes we find something that has exactly what we never knew we wanted.
