New Baby!

Dress – Dear Creatures Avila Dress
Sweater *sold out* & ShoesModcloth
Brooch – Beau and Bauble
I’m excited about my new baby!  The blue one with the basket in the pictures here.  Why?  What did you think I was talking about? My new blue baby girl is wonderful.  I’m calling her Lolita, because she’s a young, gorgeous ingenue with a very coquettish side to her.  So welcome to the family Lolita.
Since arriving, I’ve put her straight to work.  She’s been up, down, east, and west across this fair city and I know she and I will be doing it many times more.   It’s just me and her with the wind at our backs.
True Story:
Baby Girl was counting the muffin holes on the tray.
She counted, “One, two, three, four…”  then decided held up a finger in the air and announced “Nine!”
There were six.
Still, not bad for a 2 year old.

Don’t Hate The Zebra

Dress – Threadsence

Belt – F21
Shoes – Ruche
Necklace – Lustre boutique in Montreal
I’m clearly obsessed with this new necklace of mine.  I’ve already worn it three times already*here and here* and I can’t see myself getting sick of it anytime soon.  So I hope you don’t hate it and don’t get sick of it either.
On another matter, I can’t seem to get my butt into the salon for a cut.  This mop of mine needs some styling but for some reason I just keep delaying it and wondering if one day I won’t wake up with magically cut hair.  That happens, right?

Let Me Entertain You

Dress – Monteau
Belt – H&M
Scarf – street stand
Necklace – Lustre Boutique in Montreal
Shoes  – Ruche

…with fictional exploits of my imaginary life.  With the jaunts, the wishful thinkings, and the could-have-been of my fantasties.  Let me captivate you with all the possible presents, and the likely futures.  Let me regale you with all the things that are becoming. The wonders and the miracles.
Just don’t ask me to tell you of my failures, or my dreams unfulfilled.
Can you miss an opportunity that never existed?

Objects In Motion

Tee – Gap
Skirt & Belt – F21
An outfit with no shoes because I had no plans.  No need to leave the house and therefore no need to put on shoes.  It was a day when I could sit, and stop moving.  When the only exertion required on my part was that of a leisurely walk around the pond with Baby Girl.  And for that, whatever shoes were in proximity of the door sufficed.  It was a moment when things stopped for a bit.
True Story:
I think it’s becoming a habit, this stealing of my shoes.

Montreal Je T’aime: Last Blast

Dress – Garcia Jeans
Necklace – Lustre
Shoes – Payless

The last night was spent eating and walking around the old town at night.  Not too much excitement, but a lovely evening none the less.  It left a quiet, peaceful memory.  I tip my hat to you Montreal. You are charming.

Montreal Je T’aime: Dramatic Darkening

  Necklace – Etsy
Dress – Monteau
Shoes – Payless

Another outfit from the trip to Montreal.  You can’t tell because sadly, I didn’t get detail pics of it, but I’m wearing my Daenerys Stormborn necklace.  If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then you won’t understand the cool factor…or the nerd factor.

Side Note – No make-up (just a load of white sunscreen), and humidity flat hair, but whatever.  I’m not always a supermodel *read: never*

As the sky darkened with drama we changed and headed out for dinner and drinks.  But more on that later.

Montreal Je T’aime: Part 2

Day two in Montreal was spent with a climb up Mont Royal for the view, a line up at Schwatrz’ deli for their amazing smoked meat *and I do mean ah-may-zing!* and just seeing more of this fabulous city.

Dress – Ruche
Belt & Ring – F21
Necklace – Beau and Bauble

The one thing that I wasn’t a fan of was the high humidity while we were there.  My hair just went limp and it nearly drove me to the point of cutting it all off *not really, I’m just being dramatic*  But I did have to find new and fast ways of pinning it out of the way.  Some were more successful than others.
Oh by the way, yes I did go to the top of Mont Royal in a pretty ruffle dress and ballerina flats while everyone else was jogging and biking in full exercise gear.  Why?  Because I didn’t bring any sneakers, and because I like a pretty ruffle dress and don’t see why a gravel path means I can’t wear one.

Montreal Je T’aime Part 1

Dress – Smart Set
Shoes – Payless
Jewelry – c/o Bijous Caro
Our first day in Montreal was bittersweet.  The sweet being a wonderful receptionist who upon hearing it was our anniversary decided to gift me an entire set of her handmade jewelry!  Right up out of nowhere she asked me to choose a piece.  When I chose the necklace, she said, “Well, this is part of a set” and she reached for the matching bracelet and earrings as well.  I was stunned by this sudden wave of generosity!  The other sweet:  The delicious duck breast in espresso and honey sauce that I had for dinner.  And for the bitter, it rained, poured down on us as we rushed back to the hotel in the evening.
But the street performers were our entertainment throughout the entire weekend!

Sleepy Head

Dress – Everly
Hat & Belt – F21
Shoes – Payless
Spending three days in Montreal was wonderful!  Ate so much great food, spent so much time walking seeing the city, and got three baby free nights of sleep.  What am I most excited about?  The three baby free nights of sleep!  I love my sleep.
Kind of sad, I know.  But hey, simple dreams.
Will work for sleep.
