It’s a lot easier than you think.

Simply buy less, and keep in mind what we all learned in school : reduce, reuse, recycle.

Reduce how much you use – that includes everything from packaging, to food, to clothes, to cars, to cosmetics. Simplify it all. Go back to basics.

Reuse: repair what you have instead of buying new. That goes from everything around your house to your clothes. Repair that shirt, don’t get a new one. Does that broken piece of plastic on your travel mug really mean it has to be replaced? Or is it purely cosmetic? Can you crazy glue it back on?

Recycle: what things in your home have multiple purposes? What can you use in a creative way? And ultimately, buy smarter and know what your city actually recycled. Ex. I’ve been slowly collecting yogurt containers and my girl is decorating them. They’re my new pretty flowerpots.

Go back to basics. Take it slow.
